About

An engineer's eye on how you operate.

Clearline Systems is Michael, a systems engineer based in the GTA. One person, no sales team, no software to sell you. Just a method for finding where a business leaks time and margin, and fixing it so it stays fixed.

Background

Industrial and systems engineering is the discipline of looking at how work moves through a place and making it move better. Fewer handoffs, fewer waits, fewer mistakes, written down so the next person can run it. I trained in it and I have spent my career applying it.

[BACKGROUND: 2 to 3 sentences on where you have applied this. E.g. the industries, the size of the operations, the kinds of problems. Keep it concrete: numbers over adjectives.]

Clearline exists because the businesses that need this most, owner-led companies under $5M, almost never get it. Big firms bring a method but leave you with a deck. Coaches stay close but run on opinion. The gap is an engineer's method, delivered beside the owner, until it sticks.

Why independent

I do not sell software, so I will not recommend a tool you do not need. I do not take referral fees. I am not building an agency, so you get me, not a junior with my name on the proposal.

Every engagement is fixed scope and fixed fee, agreed in writing before work starts. Independent also means I say the hard thing: if the bottleneck is you, I will tell you, and then we fix it together.

How I work

Three rules, on every job.

Three rules

  1. 01

Map it before you fix it

I follow real jobs through the business before I suggest anything. The map always disagrees with the org chart, and the map is right.

  2. 02

    Numbers over adjectives

Every bottleneck gets a cost in dollars and hours, from your numbers. Every fix gets measured against it.

  3. 03

If it's not written down, it's not a system

Every system I build leaves as a document your team can follow without me. That is the point.

Next step

Stop running it from your head.

A 30-minute call. You describe what is slowing you down. I tell you whether I can help, and what I would look at first.
